I know very little about sumo. Recently, I read a novel where one of the main characters became a champion wrestler. The descriptions of sumo were vivid, but I don’t know how accurate they are. It seems complicated!

The book was “The Street of a Thousand Blossoms” [sound recording]/ Gail Tsukiyama. The story began in 1939 and included some romance and some history.

Unfortunately, it is pretty much over for Kotooshu in terms of Yusho chances. 😦

A disappointing basho overall, but he still has plenty of time left to develop into an even better fighter. Lets not give up hope!

    Hi Tess,
I searched the book you mentioned and am interested in now.
But I don’t think I will be able to understand her expression in the book especially in English. I hope it will be published in Japanese someday. 😉

    Hello Jordan,
I agree, the chance totally disappeared yesterday. But, as you said, I wish he got good experiences through the tournament. It will be helpful at his next chance 😉
