Chopped Pompano

Today, my brother fished 52 pompanos.

Then, we had to eat them for a dinner.

Tonight, we ate them as chopped pompano, we call it “鰺のタタキ(Aji no tataki) in Japanese. This is a kind of Sashimi.

Tomorrow, I’ll cook the rest of them with other recipe.

What a fun for me it would be!

Actually, I hate cooking….

Making a strap for a USB

I made it for my mother.

It seems that I’m always making things for my family, not for me….

Responsibility as a daughter

My father suddenly announced that he strongly wants to go Hiroshima stadium and watch the game, Hiroshima Carp vs. Chunichi Dragons. But, his wife and son refused to go with him.

Then, it became MY responsibility staying with him at the stadium.

Fortunately, Hiroshima defeated Chunichi, it might be because of the Olympic games, Hiroshima have no player for it but 4 good Chunichi players have been playing as a member of the national team. But, the result was the result. I don’t mind if it was a little unfair for Chunichi!

The most interesting thing was, there were my aunt, uncle and their son in the stadium without planning and separately! I sent an e-mail to my grandmother (she is not the one I mentioned in a past post) from my mobile phone, and she told each of us the fact by her reply. We tried to see, but we couldn’t at all. It was a little disappointing for us, but no problem, because Hiroshima defeated Chunichi!

Do your best, Carp!

I really, really want to see the opening game in the new Hiroshima stadium on the next season!

Hiroshima

Today is August 6, the day that the first atomic bomb attacked Hiroshima 63 years ago.

I know there’s a lot of people who think the bomb saved many people being dead.

I know there’s a lot of people who think the bomb made  Asian people free from Japan.

I know we, Japanese, did a lot of bad things, absolutely bad things during the war.

I hope, I wish only one thing.

If you mention about the bomb, please know about what had happened under the bomb.

I don’t mean that the Hibakusya have been more suffering than the people who were suffered from Japan.

No, I couldn’t say such a thing.

I just think that the bomb already had a big effect on Hiroshima and Nagasaki even 63 years ago.

I just guess that the effect of nuclear weapons must be bigger today.

And, we, human beings, couldn’t stop making mistakes.

We would make mistakes even if we are very, very careful.

Then, I think there might be a possibility that YOU would be hurt by a nuclear weapon if your country keeps nuclear weapons.

Then, I think you might need to determine to be suffered from a nuclear weapon if you give your support for keeping nuclear weapons in your country.

If your country doesn’t keep any nuclear weapons right now, but still there’s a possibility that your country will keep nuclear weapons someday, if there’s a nuclear weapons on the Earth.

Then, I think that the knowledge about what had happened in Hiroshima and Nagasaki gives you a information about what will happen if a nuclear weapon explode where you are today or in the future.

I wish you who read this post try to see from this point of view about what nuclear weapons are.

Should I follow my mother?

My mother said to me,

“Hey, look, you are a loser!”

What!?

Why?

Because I had not known that Kotooshu had come to Hiroshima and missed the chance to meet him.

She also said,

“Oh, poor Kotooshu. He lost a fan.”

Why?

Because he didn’t contact ME before he came here, then, she thought I ought to stop supporting him.

Oh, Mom.

Are you serious?

Is that the way you want me to follow?

I doubt it is right, but she is MY MOTHER…

No, don’t worry.

I will always support you, Kotooshu!

My Grandma told me very seriously,

“If you won’t be near me, I would be lonely. So, won’t marry a man who lives far away from here.”

No, Grandma, don’t be so silly.

I know she loves me so much, but it means that her happiness is more important for her than MY happiness.

I love her, of course, but every time when she said something like this, I have a feeling like I’ll never have a conversation with her about my future.

“I’m sorry, but I can’t marry you because my Grandma won’t be happy without me.”

Oh, no, that’s impossible.

I’m not her only one family, she has lots of members of her family. Even her elder sisters are living here in Hiroshima!

Well, I’m wondering if a woman refuse to marry a man for this reason, how the man feel?

That means the woman care about her Grandmother more than the man.

Get angry?

Be disgusted?

Find no word to say?

Tell you your opinion, please!

I know why she said such a thing.

I’m the first Grandchild for her and have been living near her. I’m the only one granddaughter who has been living in this city, and other granddaughters and her daughter have been living in the other city far away from here. She has 2 grandsons and they have been living here, but she felt that they are a little cold than us, girls.

I know, I know.

But! I was irritated with her sometimes…

I don’t have any plan about my marriage and it means that I will stay near her for a while.

So, let’s go, Grandma! I will support you!

At least for a while, until I have a plan to marry with someone who lives far away from here.

Strong winds are coming and going through my house.

Until the last summer, we couldn’t open some windows and doors because of my cat. He had been doing mischievous, and we had to shut the windows and doors to get rid of him.

But, he’s gone.

This is the first summer we spend without him for these 10 years.

Blowing wind comforts us during hot nights in Japan, but I  feel loneliness with those opened windows and doors.

Well done, Kotooshu!

I believe he got good experience through this tournament for the next challenge to be a Yokozuna.

He seemed to me that he kept trying to fight in the style of Yotsu-zumo. That would be very important point if he wants to be a Yokozuna.

I think he would fight better on the next tournament in September and it would be very interesting tournament.

Let’s see how it will be!

Exciting match with 2 Georgian wrestlers : Day 8 in Nagoya Basyo

I was so excited when 2 Georgian wrestler were making great match. Kokkai, the first Georgian Sumo wrestler defeated Tochinoshin after long and powerful fight. I could see their strong desire to defeat the other one.

Kokkai lost already 5 matches, but I hope the winning will be a turning point to him.

Today, Yokozuna Hakuho and all 4 of Ozeki got their winnings.

The eldest Ozeki, Kaiou showed that he IS Ozeki against Aminishiki. Do your best, Kaiou!

Kotomitsuki struggled with Wakanosato. He is originally coming from nearby Nagoya and he and Ama keep the second rank of the result after Hakuho with a one defeat difference up to now. Keep the position you 2 guys! It will make the tournament more interesting and exciting!

And, Chiyotaikai. This is his 12th Kadoban (he must lose his rank as a Ozeki if he won’t win 8 matches), but he always came back to the rank. This time, he already win 6! Wow!

At last, my favorite, Kotooshu. He lose the chance to be a Yokozuna already, but he seemed to keep challenging to struggle with his mental problem. he also seemed still nervous a little. I hope he will overcome his nervousness day by day and grab his fortune.

No challenge, No chance.

You must challenge if you want to get a good result.

Keep challenging, Kotooshu!

I will always support you
